Weekend Keeps Volunteers Busy

WrightsvilleFIRE Web Division, June 26

The last three days found the MIB handling 8 calls for service, participating in a burning of the flags ceremony, and holding a Chicken BBQ fundraiser. Calls handled this weekend were an AFA, Working Structure Fire, Inside Investigation, MVA w/ confinement, Working Vehicle Fire, 2 Injury Crashes, and an unknown type alarm. Wagon Assists on Donation Bin Fire

WrightsvilleFIRE Web Division, June 22

At 2248, the Engine 41 was alerted to assist Columbia Borough Fire Department Station 80 with a clothing donation bin on fire in the 1400 Block of Lancaster Ave. Due to Engine 802 being out of service, Engine 41 picked up the run. Commercial Building Fire

Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Russ, May 24

At 1742 hrs, company 41 was alerted for a commercial structure fire in Springettsbury Township. Rescue 41-1 was requested for the RIT bringing a crew of 6 to the incident. Rescue 41-1 arrived and assumed the 4th due Engine responsibilities and picked up Engine 21's line at the 2nd hydrant. Wagon, Rescue Engine on the 38 Box

At 1738hrs on May 16, 2016 the box alarm was transmitted for Old Farm Lane for reports of a house on fire. Engine 41, Rescue 41-1, and Chief 41 responded with 11 volunteers.

State Grant Assists with Protective Footwear

WrightsvilleFIRE Web Division, May 16

Volunteers at Wrightsville Fire & Rescue recently received new Globe Supralite boots to replace aging and worn boots that were previously being used. These new boots are lighter and offer more flexibility while firefighters work in their turnout gear. A much needed investment as many of the older boots suffered from worn soles, tears, and had lost their resistance to water.
