Tonight the officers of the Columbia No. 1 Fire Department kicked off the fall and winter training programs by hosting a rope and rigging training at the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center.  Volunteers from Wrightsville met up with members of Columbia No. 1 and went over basic rigging and rappelling.  The program coordinated by Chief Felus and Chief Livelsberger touched on the basics of rappelling and rigging.  Captain Nye from the Columbia No. 1 Fire Department and Lieutenant Ryon from Wrightsville Fire and Rescue assisted with stations throughout the evening.  Approximately 20 firefighters from the two companies attended the training.  While returning from the training center the RIT team was dispatched for a structure fire in Lower Windsor Township.  Rescue Company 1 responded with six in just two minutes. Thanks to Station 8-1 for the training invitation.
