2.8.06: Rescue 1 Takes In 2 Calls In East Donegal To Assist 7-9 Brothers

Approx. 18:12 hrs, R41 was dispatched to assist LC 7-9 on a building fire @ Armstrong World Industries. R41 was on the street in less than 1 minute with Lt. Russ in the seat and a crew of 8. Chief Urey and Deputy Chief Smeltzer rode via POV. Upon R41 arrival, Chief 7-9 had the command Chief 7-9-2 had operations, crew was sent to staging until the truck crews could investigate on the roof. Just as R41 was being placed available, Co. 7-9 was dispatched for a 2nd call in their district- spill control in the area of Airport Rd. Chief 7-9 asked for R41 along with LC Eng 7-1-2 and Tanker 7-9 to handle. Upon R41 arrival, Lt 7-9-1 advised untis to proceed onto runway of airport. Crews found single engine airplane that had to make emergency landing. Lt. 7-9-1 assumed command crew assisted with lighting and removing plane from runway. Once plane was removed, units were placed available.
