As the Memorial Day weekend continued, Station 41 kept busy. Saturday brought 3 runs.
Starting with an Investigation in the 21 1st due at 0847hrs. Chief 21-1 on
the scene with an odor in the basement. Crews from 21 and 41 check the house with
the gas monitors, all conditions found to be normal, box was placed available.
Later on at 2130hrs the 21-15 box was hit for Rt 30 at the Wrightsville Exit,
for a vehicle accident. Chief 41 on the scene reporting, vehicle vs. deer, crews
waited for the vehicle to be towed, then box was placed available. While the
Engine and rescue were on the Rt 30 call, R41-2 handled a QRS call on the 100
blk of Chestnut St. Sunday came and the 41 pagers were alerted at 0150hrs for
a vehicle accident with unknown injuries, in the 21 first due at Tracy School
and Horn Roads. Chief 21-1 on the scene, 1 vehicle into tree, no one around the
vehicle. Fire services released by PD, box available. At 1755hrs, 41 and 21 were
alerted for a accident involving a motorcycle. YCC advised Chief 41 of a Class
1 trauma, which put Stat Med-A-Vac in the air, adding the 8-1 Engine from Columbia
for the LZ. Crews from 21 and 41 assessed the patient, had the patient packaged
for Ambulance 41-3 when they arrived. The helicopter was cancelled, and
the 8-1 engine was brought into the scene. Box was available at 1830hrs. At 2130hrs
the 21-13 box was hit for a vehicle accident at Rt. 462 and Kreutz Creek
Roads for the 2nd time this weekend. Engine 41 and Both 41 Rescues responded along
with Attack 21 within 1 minute. Chief 41 arrived with 2 vehicles blocking,
minor injuries were reported. Crews then cleaned up fluids and went available.
