Fire Showing From A Columbia Borough Garage

At 1047 while on a first due med local, the Engine Company was alerted for a structure fire on Avenue G and N. 5th Street in Columbia, Lancaster County.

The Engine Company was en route with 8 personnel in one minute.

Engine Co. 804, and Chief 80 arrived on scene, with fire showing from all sides of a garage. The crew from 804 put two lines in service and began knocking the fire.

E41 was the 2nd arriving engine, and dropped 500' of 5" and secure a 2nd water source to the scene. The crew from Engine 41 began pulling the garage doors off the structure and out of the way so that an effective attack could be made.

Once the bulk of the fire was knocked crews from 41/804 made entry to begin opening up ceilings and knocking fire in the crawlspace of the garage.

41 cleared in just under two hours.
