At 2331 hours, companies were alerted for box 21-50 to the 100 block of Ducktown Road in Hellam Township for a reported house fire. Chief 41 and the Wagon responded with 7 personnel within 2 minutes. Responding units were advised by Communications of a fire in the wall. Chief 41/Chief 21 arrived to find a 2 story SFD with smoke showing side Bravo. Engine 41 arrived and stretched a 1.5" line to the first floor and found an active fire behind the fireplace that extended into the walls. Rescue 1 arrived and streched a second line to the 2nd floor for any extension. Crews were assisted by Company 21 and Company 89 with opening up and extinguishing the fire. The fire was marked under control within 10 minutes of arrival.
