At 1637, The Engine Company was dispatched as a part of the 1st Alarm assignment for a reported house fire on the 800 Block of Houston in Columbia. Units arrived with fire showing from the first floor of the residence. Engine 41 went en route with 6 personnel in one minute. Engine 41 arrived and took the side "C" alley, laying 400' of 5" supply line from 8th street to the rear of the duplex. Crews deployed the 300' 2" line to the attached exposure. Crews forced entry to the exposure and opened up to extinguish fire in the ceiling. Crews also split to check for fire on the 2nd floor with negative results. Personnel assisted in opening up windows to ventilate and continued overhaul operations. Personnel continued to assist with various tasks on the fireground.

A great job to first due departments on a quick and effective knock on a lot of fire.
