**Route 30 has since reopened to traffic since its early morning closure on Monday 4/4. **

Harrisburg, PA – Route 30 will be closed to through traffic tonight in Columbia Borough, Lancaster County, starting at around 12 midnight and continuing to 5 AM on Monday, April 4. The portion of Route 30 that will be closed to traffic starts at the interchange with Route 441 and extends west to the Wrights Ferry Bridge over the Susquehanna River. Traffic will be detoured around the closure by way of Route 441 in the borough, Route 462 and over the Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge, and Cool Springs Road and the interchange with Route 30 in Hellam Township, York County.

The overnight closure of Route 30 is necessary to enable crews from Amtrak to make repairs to their facilities that involve electrical lines for the railroad that cross over Route 30, just west of the interchange with Route 441 in Columbia. The electrical lines may need to be lowered onto the highway while the repairs are underway. Amtrak anticipates completing their work in time for PennDOT to reopen Route 30 by 5 AM, in time for the morning commuter rush hours.
