At 1619 hours, York County communications alerted Station 41 and mutual aid departments for a chimney fire on the 200 Block of Hellam Street in Wrightsville. Engine 41 went en route with 6 personnel shortly after dispatch. Engine 41 laid out from 2nd/Hellam Street and came upon a 2-1/2 story single family dwelling with nothing showing. Crews stretched a line into the residence, and began an investigation. Crews found a chimney flu, clogged with debris, with active fire throughout the flu. Crews disassembled the flu, and removed burning materials from the residence. Truck 80 arrived on scene and went to the roof, to clear the chimney with a sweep. Other companies on scene assisted in checking different floors of the residence for any extension into the walls. Crews operated for about an hour before returning to quarters.
