First Due Box for Company 41

Today at 12:21 hours, the 1st alarm assignment was struck for a residential structure fire on the 200 Block of Walnut Street in Wrightsville. York 911 gave additional of smoke and flames from the windows. Upon receiving the additional, E41 was approaching with smoke in the area. E41 laid out from Walnut and 2nd and arrived on scene with a two story brick, smoke showing from the 1st and 2nd floors. Crews from the Engine stretched a line inside and encountered fire on the 1st and 2nd floors. Captain 89 (YAUFR) took Walnut Street command, and requested the working fire assignment at 12:28. At 12:36, Command requested an emergency evacuation due to loss of water supply and a pump issue at the initial hydrant. A second alarm assignment was struck at 12:46. Once an adequate water supply was re-established , crews advanced to all floors of the building via ground ladders (floors and stairs were burned away in multiple locations.) Crews from multiple departments worked together to get the fire under control in extremely windy conditions.
We’d like to thank all of the mutual aid departments that assisted, Elizabethtown Fire who transferred to Company 41 for the duration of the incident and assisted in equipment clean-up, as well as the Burning Bridge Tavern for donating wings to the Station after the fire.
