This afternoon shortly before 1400 hours, Company 79 (Maytown-East Donegal Township Fire Department) responded to an Automatic Fire Alarm at a local daycare on Coffee Goss Road. Chief 79-1 (Stokes) arrived on the scene with a large daycare facility and heavy smoke showing from the roof and requested the assignment be filled. The Squad, Wagon, Rescue, & Fire Chief responded immediately with a total staffing of 14 Volunteers.

The Squad was the first arriving Special Service and split its crew sending 2 personnel to the roof for vertical ventilation and 2 to complete primary searches and open up inside. The Engine & Rescue arrived sending their crews forward to assist the first in Engine crews while Chief 41 joined the Command staff.

Crews encountered fire running the cockloft and were able to extinguish the same & all searches proved negative. Units from 41 operated for about 3 hours before returning to service.

Shout out to Craley Fire Department for covering our area while we were out.
