•1-19-09 - 8 Call Day for the 41 Volunteers•
One minute after midnight, Engine 41 was due with the rest of the Hallam Borough AFA assignment to Beaver Street.  Engine Company 41 responded with 5 personnel in 2 minutes.  YCDES advised 21/41 equipment that the caller advised of an alarm from an unoccupied residence that has been sounding for a couple of days.  Crews gained entry and investigated to find a faulty system, box placed in service.

The 2nd Automatic Fire Alarm for the day was dispatched at 0927 Hrs. to Don's Kawasaki, also in Hallam Borough.  With knowledge of recent problems with the alarm, Chief 21 held the 41 Engine in quarters.  Engine 41 held in house with 8 personnel.

At 1135 hours, the 21-20 Box was struck for the AFA at Regency Manor Personal Care.  Engine 1/Rescue 1 responded with a combined crew of 8 in 2 minutes.  Chief 21 and his Tanker arrived on scene with nothing evident from the exterior.  Upon investigation, the cause for the alarm trip was due to a broken water line.  Incident controlled by maintenance, HTFD in service at 1202 hours.

About an hour after clearing the AFA, the Hellam Township Fire Departments were racked for a Vehicle Accident - Class 1.  Rescue 41-2 & Rescue 41-1 responded with 8 to the crash.  Chief 21 arrived with the patients out of the vehicle and BLS arriving on scene.  41 Units advised to respond in non-emergency.  21 personnel handled debris/fluids.  Rescue Company available at 1340.

At 1442, Rescue 41-2 was dispatched for a medical assist in Wrightsville Borough.  Rescue 2 responded in 1 minute.  Crew assisted in making entry and assisting BLS.  Quick Response Service available, 1452.

1715: Rescue 41-2 and Engine 41 were due for a vehicle accident on River Road, East Donegal Township, Lancaster County due to 79 operating another incident.  Rescue 2 went with 5 in one minute.  Chief 7-9 placed the 41 company in service just prior to Rescue 1's response with 6 personnel.

At 1821, Rescue 2 responded to a Medical Assist Class-3 in the Borough.  While working the Med Assist, the 21-15 box was struck for a reported vehicle fire Route 30 westbound at the Hellam Exit.  Command 41/Chief 41-2 enroute with 2 and Rescue 1 with 8 in 1 minute.  Tanker 21 arrived on scene with an overheated vehicle, Route 30 WB at the Accomac overpass.  21 crews assisted driver, Hellam Township Fire Department available at 1845.
