•10-18-08 - Middle of the Row Off In Zone 8•

While hanging around the 41 House, the Dwelling box was dispatched in Columbia Borough on the 300 Block of N. 2nd St.

Confirmation of a working fire was made from the back deck of Station 41.  Eight trained personnel loaded up in Engine 41 and awaited the 2nd alarm dispatch.

Chief 8 (Anderson) requested the 2nd alarm, and Engine 41 advised York we were enroute to Columbia Borough.

Rescue 41 was also due on the 2nd, and responded shortly after the Engine with 7, leaving four more volunteers in quarters.

Command 8 was on location with a 2-1/2 story middle-of-the-row well involved, and spreading to other homes.

Engine 41 grabbed the plug at 2nd and Poplar, and layed 5" to the scene.

Engine crew grabbed an attack line of E-41 and proceeded to the rear of 347 to extinguish fires in the laundry room.

Rescue 41-1 arrived and took another line off of the 41 Engine for fire suppression inside the attic of 347.

For the remainder of the evening crews assisted in overhaul in 3 homes. 

The crew from 41 then stood by in quarters after being released from the box.

While at the fire, Rescue 2 along with units from East Prospect and Hellam handled in accident with entrapment in the first due.

10 minutes after the entrapment call, there was another non-injury accident on Route 30 at the Wrightsville Exit that Station 38 handled.
