•10-24-07 - FIVE POINTZ REGIONAL FIRE & RESCUE TASKFORCE•
On Sunday October 21, 2007 the Columbia No. 1 Fire Department had its bi-monthly meeting with the group know as "Three Pointz". Although not an official designation for the group, three companies have joined together sharing resources to assist each company in providing better fire protection to its community. The Columbia No. 1 Fire Department, Wrightsville Fire Company and the Maytown East Donegal Township Fire Department a few years ago started meeting and discussing issues which affect every emergency service. Over the past two years, as a group we shared resources, shared operational guidelines, bulk purchased, assisted each other on incidents, and trained together as a team. In two years all three departments become participants in the Pennsylvania Fire Service Accreditation Program, trained over 30 firefighters in the Fire Academy on the Road Program Rapid Intervention Team Basic Program, Trained over 30 firefighters in the Rapid Intervention Team Advanced Program, hosted 64 Firefighters in the "Everyone Goes Home Program", certified 15 firefighters in Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Instructor II Programs, as well as certified almost 45 firefighters to the Firefighter II level and joint trained on numerous other programs.

On Sunday "Three Pointz" as was given to the group by some was officially disbanded. Its with great pleasure the former "Three Pointz" welcomes the East Prospect Fire Company (York 42) and the Hallam Fire Company (York 21) to the group. As a group there are plans to host the remaining Academy on the Road Programs, Fire Officer I,II, and III, and develop and implement a "Back to the Basics" training program for there firefighters. Although not officially named, the group UNOFFICIALLY named itself "FIVE POINTZ REGIONAL FIRE & RESCUE TASKFORCE"
