•10-3-06 - Engine Due On Columbia Dwelling Fire•
Shortly before 1800hrs on Tuesday, the 41 Engine was due in Columbia Borough for a reported dwelling fire on the 200 block of Poplar St. Chief 8-1 on the scene, smoke showing side "A" Alpha, reporting fire in the walls assuming command 8, adding Rescue 7-9 for the RIT. Engine 41 en route Deputy Smeltzer in the seat w/6. Command instructed Engine 41 to lay in from the hydrant at 3rd and Poplar. Good work by the first arriving Engine and Truck crews, keeping the fire in check, The 41 crew was assigned to the adjacent house to check for extensions. The 41 Engine was ready for service within 1 hour.
