•11-11-08 - 2nd Alarm Struck In The First Due•

At 06:31, the 41-01 box was struck for a residential structure fire on the 400 Block of N. 3rd St. in Wrightsville.
Engine 41 went enroute with four in two minutes under the direction of assistant chief Groft.
Engine 41 arrived on scene to find heavy fire to the rear of the residence on division 2 and the attic.
Crews advanced lines to the 2nd floor and also began a primary search which proved to be negative.  Crews from 21 began assisting in fire suppression with the Tower from 8-1 opened up the roof.
After a majority of the fire was knocked down, mutual aid companies began assisting in overhaul operations.
Engines 41, 21, and Truck 8-1 remained on scene until investigation was complete and went available in just over 3 hours.
