•11-5-05: Busy Saturday Goes Into Sunday Morning•
At 14:45 hours, R-41-2 assisted EMS 41 on a bicyclist accident at 2nd & Hellam Streets in the borough.  Before clearing the scene, at 14:50 41 crews were alerted for a wildland fire next to a structure in Hellam Township on the Lincoln Hwy.  Engine 41 rolled out with 6, and Rescue 1 proceeded with 4.  Attack 21 was also due.  Chief 41 arrived on scene with a working field fire.  Lancaster County Truck 8-1 (Columbia 1) & Rescue 7-9 (Maytown) held in 41 quarters till the fire was brought under control by 21/41 crews.  The box was available at 16:05, and 38 minutes later, 41 was banged out to another box for the possible silo fire which brought crews from 21/41 Truck Co. 42,  Lancaster Truck 8-1 & Lancaster Rescue 7-9.  The fire was unfounded, and Chief 41 placed the box 10-8.  At 18:29 hours, Rescue's 1, 2, & Engine 41 responded to Rt. 30 i n the area of the Wrightsville Exit for the smoke investigation.  The smoke turned out to be lingering dust from a silo.  Chief 41 placed fire/rescue services available.  All was quiet for awhile, Then at 02:44 hours on 11/6, Lancaster Squad 7-6 (West Hempfield Twp.) requested the services of Station 41 on the Rt. 30 bridge for a debris removal from a non-injury accident.  Rescue 41-2 took in the alarm.  While crews were sweeping glass & debris, a Jeep Cherokee pulled up beside 7-6/ 41 apparatus, with a working engine compartment fire.  7-6 / 41 crews got a quick knock on the blaze with portable extinguishers.  Station 41 was clear of both incidents at 03:08.  A special thanks to the mutual aid companies who were ready to assist!  Also, 7-6 bretheren, whenever you need us don't hesitate to call... we're always willing & ready to respond.
