•2.11.06: No Rest For The Wrightsville Volunteers•
The day started early at 08:00 hours with the last session of the basic vehicle rescue technician class.  Members from 41, 42, LC 8-1, & LC 8-4 completed the practical part of the class at Den's auto body outside of East Prospect.  As 41 volunteers were wrapping up, around 13:21 we were dispatched to standby at Maytown's quarters for a Rescue Co. Transfer.  Station 41 answered the call with a crew of 17.

As the snow started falling, the calls came in.  At 17:55, Stations 41, 21, Lancaster Rescue 7-9, and Lancaster Truck 8-1 were dispatched to Dark Hollow Rd. in Hellam Township for a chimney fire.  Engine and Rescue 1 responded within a minute with a crew of 20.  Deputy 41 arrived on scene and found a working chimney fire.  Engine crew laddered the chimney to use a chimney sweep.  21 crew checked for extension with a thermal imager.  Engine crews sweeped the chimney until the blockages were cleared.  Command 41 placed the box available 44 minutes later.

At 20:21 hours, Station 41 was dispatched to a vehicle accident, vehicle down an embankment with no injuries on Dark Hollow Rd. in the township. Rescue 2 hit the road within a minute.  We recieved further information that the first vehicle was struck, and now caused entrapment.  Immediately, Rescue 1 responded, and Attack 21 was added to the box.  Upon arrival, Rescue 41-2 crew depowered and stabilized the vehicle.  Crew then gained access through drivers side window.  Removed passenger side door to extricate patient.  Patient did no wish to have medical treatment.  Rescue 41-2 remained on scene until vehicles and debris were removed.  Chief 41 placed the box available over an hour later.

While wrapping up the entrapment call, Station recieved a 2nd call in the district around 20:45.  An auto accident w/ no injuries down the embankment, 3rd call on Dark Hollow Rd.  Rescue 1 and Attack 21 responded within a minute.  Chief 21 arrived on location, advising that no fire equipment was needed.

While in station, the crew size downgraded from 20 to just 10, Station 41 was once again dispatched for the 2nd Rescue to assist Station 21 with a vehicle accident with 1 overturned on Range Rd. in the township at 22:50.  Due to the conditions, Rescue 2 was held on Druck Valley Rd. until released at 23:10.

*A big thanks goes out to Stations 21, Columbia #1, and the Maytown boys for promptly assisting us during these hazardous conditions.
