•2-13-10 - House Saved by the HTFD• |
At 0319 hours, the 21-20 box was racked for a house fire in the 700 Block of Ducktown
Road in Hellam Township. Engine 41 was enroute in 2 minutes with 6
personnel with the Rescue-Engine right behind. Chief 21 and the rest of the
responding units were advised of a living room fire and one patient possibly
still inside. Chief 21 arrived on scene to assess and confirm the working
fire with all occupants accounted for. 21/41 crews split to pull a single
handline for suppression while the rest opened up. The fire was held to
the to the living room. Due to the icy conditions, Attacks 21 & 42 were
the only units able to make the lane leaving manpower to take the trek by foot.
Crews were clear of the scene within about 3 hours. Thanks to Company 44 for covering the 41 Local for the duration of the incident and to the volunteers in-house who supplied nearly 50 firefighters with breakfast. |
