•3.19.06: 3 Alarm Commercial Fire In Hallam Borough• |

Just after 02:30hrs, Engine 41 was due for the 2nd alarm assignment into Hallam Borough
for a Commercial Structure Fire at the Hallam Imports Car Dealership. (Stations
21, 38 & Truck 16 already on the assignment), Engine 41 went enroute w/
a crew of 8 within 2 minutes. Command 21 on the scene with a fully involved
structure and assigned 41 crew to assist with the protection of exposures.
Later, Engine 41 was directed to the rear of the structure to set up for
master stream operations. Engine 41 laid from hydrant (Beaver and Emig St.) to
feed the Tower Ladder out of Columbia 8-1, also pulling several attack lines for
the operation. Rescue 41 was requested on the 3rd alarm to set up a draft site
@ Market and Lee St. due to the hydrant that was feeding Engine 38 failing. Master
stream operations continued throughout the morning, crews were tired but
worked together to get the job done! Rescue 41 returned to quarters approx
08:00hrs, Engine remained on scene until 13:20hrs until overhaul was completed.
Rescue 2, and Car 41 were even on location at some points of the incident.
A big thanks to the Maytown Fire Department for providing the rescue
co transfer, and to Marietta LC 7-10 for the Engine transfer's during the early
morning hours. |
