•3.23.06: Multiple Crashes On Route 30• |

Just after 0630 hours, Station 41 along with Attack 21 were dispatched to Rt. 30
eastbound just before the intercounty bridge for a vehicle accident w/entrapment
and ejection. Rescue 41 responded within 3 minutes with a crew of 5 followed
by Rescue 41-2. Chief 41 arrived to find a vehicle vs. tractor trailer, vehicle
on its roof, tractor trailer on its side with no entrapment and 1 person ejected
from the vehicle. Thus causing both eastbound lanes of Rt. 30 to be shut down.
Rescue arrived, starting acessing patients, to find 1 patient class 1,
2 patients class 2. Crews assisted until patients were in care of EMS. While 41
and 21 crews remained on the scene until PennDot could clear the road of debris,
another accident occurred in the westbound lane, minor injuries were reported,
41 and 21 cleared both incidents shortly after 0900hrs. Just as the 41 equipment
returned to the house, the pagers were alerted again for another vehicle
accident on Rt. 30 in the eastbound lane in the area of WSBA. R-41-2 responded
within 1 min with a crew of 5 along with Engine 41 with a crew of 4. Rescue
41 responded shortly after understaffed due to refueling. Chief 41 arrived on
scene with a two vehicle accident, 2 minor injuries, crews acessed patients and
removed debris from the roadway, and returned within 45 mins. |
