Just after 0700hrs on Monday, Station 21 was alerted to River Dr. in the area of Furnace Rd. for a woods fire. Attack 21 arrived to find, approximately 10-15 acres of woods on fire and spreading. Chief 21-1 (Fritz) Immedialty requested Station 41 for manpower and multiple brush units. Engine 41 responded within 3 mins, Capt. Livelsberger in the seat with 5, Rescue 41 responded with 3. Engine 41 was directed to drop manpower at the scene and set up a tanker fill site at the river. Crews worked the rest of the morning the fire was contained around noon, and some units were released, the rest stayed until 1430hrs until all hot spots were out. Great job to all the units involved and everyone came home safe. While 41 was working on the woods fire, LC Engine 8-1-1 stood by at the 41 house, and a crew from LC 7-9 manned R41-2. While on stand-by, the crews handled a medical assist in the Borough. Special Thanks to our brothers from 8-1 and 7-9 for standing by all day at the 41 house.
