•5-29-10 - Rescue Goes for the Entrapment with Fire & Ejection•
At 0425, Rescue 41-2 was requested to assist Lancaster Company 7-9 with a 2 vehicle accident with 1 subject trapped in a vehicle down an embankment and 1 subject partially ejected from an over-turned vehicle that was on fire. Rescue 41-2 was enroute with 5 Rescue Techs and an EMT in 3 minutes.  Upon arrival, the rescue staged on the lower side of the embankment for lighting and equipment where one of the involved vehicles came to rest in which the subject was trapped.  Company 41 assisted Rescue & EMS personnel that were already working diligently to free the trapped patient.  Despite valiant efforts, the patient succumbed to his injuries.  The ejected patient was transported to the trauma center by the local ALS unit.

Rescue 41-2 then transferred to Company 7-9 until Maytown units were available.  The Wrightsville Volunteers were available at 0642 hours.
