The day started at 0136 hours for a lift assist in Wrightsville Borough with another
QRS call at 1106 hours. At 1216, Companies 41 and 21 were dispatched to the intersection of Second Street and Route 462 in Wrightsville Borough for the injury crash with blocking. Engine 41 and Rescue 41-2 handled with 6 personnel on scene within a minute from dispatch. Patient care was transferred to the BLS unit and 41 & 21 units were available after vehicles were towed. Rescue 41-1 handle yet another medical call at 1612 hours. RIT 41 was due at 2045 hours along with the rest of the fire assignment on box 89-106 for a gas leak on Old Orchard Road in Springettsbury Township. Rescue 41-1 responded with 6 qualified RIT personnel and 1 in station within 2 minutes. While responding the box was held to YAUFR units, Rescue-Engine 41 was available. York County 911 dispatched the Hellam Township Fire Department for a vehicle accident with unconscious patients at 2230 to the intersection of Kreutz Creek Road and Route 462. While personnel were enroute to staff the Rescues, 911 upgraded the crash with double entrapment into a traffic light pole per Hellam Township PD. Rescue 41-1, Rescue 41-2, and the Command Unit responded with 10 personnel - 3 EMT's and all being Rescue Technicians. Chief 21 arrived on scene confirming the entrapments and advised the incoming apparatus that the roof and doors needed to go and the dash needed to be lifted. Engine 21 arrived to start stabilization, depowerment, and supply the suppression crew. Upon arrival of the Rescue units, 41 & 21 went to work and freed the first patient within 12 minutes of being on scene. The 2nd patient was extricated within 14 minutes of the arrival of rescue personnel. Both Class - 1 Patients were taken to the nearest trauma center.
