At 1348 hours, Lancaster County-Wide Communications dispatched the Vehicle Rescue
Assignment at Route 30 & 441 in Columbia Borough. Lancaster County advised
responding units that the crash was going to be in York County. York 911
was notified and the 21-15 box was dispatched for a Class 1 crash, Route 30
EB just west of the Inter-county bridge. Lancaster Co. Units arrived on scene
reporting entrapment. Rescue 41-1 and Rescue 41-2 arrived on scene with
an SUV hauling a camper - Overturned blocking both East Bound lanes.
York and Lancaster crews went to work extricating the 2 trapped patients. The first patient was extricated in less than 20 minutes with the 2nd patient being extricated soon after. A total of 5 patients were in care of on scene EMS units and were transported to local trauma centers. Great job to all units working the rescue assignment! This is the 3rd entrapment in 2 years that vehicles hauling a camper have overturned on Route 30 and the 2nd one resulting in persons trapped. ---------------------------------------- *Currently at 2021 hours - the Rescue-Engine is covering the 24 Local as units are working a 2 Alarm Fire in Newberry Township |
