•7-19-09 - Mass Casualty Crash on the 30 Strip•
  At approx. 0552  hours, the rescue local assignment was transmitted for the vehicle accident with people trapped on Route 30 in Hellam Township. Rescue Engine 41, Rescue 41-2 and Deputy Chief 41 (Command 41) responded on the run with ten volunteers. Other units on the assignment included Engine Company 21, EMS units, Lancaster Rescue 7-9, and Lancaster Engine 8-1. Deputy 41 arrived on scene and found a two-vehicle collision with a total of 7 patients, some lying on the ground.  There was no entrapment.  Volunteers from Wrightsville 41 arrived and immediately began patient care efforts, as Engine Company 8-1 arrived and assisted with vehicle depowerment  and provided a protection handline.  All crews on scene assisted with patient packaging and cleanup of debris from the roadway.  Rescue Company 41 returned to service within an hour and a half.
