As the day was drawing to an end, the 41 tones were dropped for an odor of natural
gas in a structure. The Engine Company was enroute within 2 minutes with
a crew of 8 and Chief 41-1 (Livelsberger) in the seat and Rescue 2 and Car 1
right behind with an additional 8 personnel. Engine 1 arrived on scene at
the 100 block of South Front Street with a 2 story apartment building that was
being evacuated. The MSA multigas detector was placed in service by the "Men in
Black." No LEL readings were found. The incident was handed over
