The Wrightsville Volunteers started their day at 10:21 with a 2nd Alarm structure
assist on Walnut Street in Columbia (8-1). Engine Co. 41 arrived 3 minutes
after the dispatch with a crew of 7. Rescue Squad 84 arrived on location
and took the command and advised of a working fire in the middle of the row,
on the 2nd Division. Engine entered the area through 2nd Street and advanced
to the rear of the exposure building. 41 crew advanced a line from E-871
to the attic and kept the fire in check to the exposure. Engine
crew then assisted the other companies with clean up operations, and the Men
In Black were available in 2 hours. While operating on the structure assignment, Rescue-Engine 41 stood by in Maytown's quarters with a crew of 6. About 2 hours after clearing the Columbia incident, Rescue 2 took in a Medical Assist call on 3rd Street in the Borough. The QRS cleared 16 minutes later. About a half hour later, at 15:27 the Rescue-Engine was dispatched to standby in Maytowns quarters while Engine 792 operated at a multi-alarm barn fire in Mount Joy Township. Rescue 1 returned in 1- 1/2 hours. About a half-hour into the Rescue Company transfer, Engine 1, Rescue 2 were due on an Auto Accident with Injuries in Wrightsville. Both units responded with a crew of 7. Deputy 41 arrived on the scene to find a minor vehicle accident. Rescue 2 crew took in patient care until the ambulance arrived. Crews swept up debris and returned available an hour later. |
