The Wrightsville Volunteers started thier day at 02:15 for an assault at the local bar. Rescue 2 went enroute with an EMT on board and took the care of two patients until EMS 42 & Lancaster 7-7 took over. All was quiet until 13:40 when the Hellam/Wrightsville brothers were dispatched to Route 30 in the area of the Shoehouse for an accident with injuries and rollover. Rescues 1&2 went enroute with 13. Rescue 2 arrived on the scene with a utility van on its side with one patient self-extricated and laying in the median. Patient refused EMS, and after the vehicle was stabilized and towed the box was placed available. While placing the box available, York County advised 41 & 21 equipment to stand by for an additional incident. Engine 21, 41 Equipment and Lancaster Truck 8-1 were requested to respond to the Accomac Inn in Hellam Township for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 21 arrived and confirmed the alarm was triggered due to a power outage. The box was available at 14:38. As 41 equipment was returning, we came upon a tree across the roadway, over wires. The Volunteers from 41 removed the tree and continued on thier way and arrived back at 41 quarters. As heavy storms moved through the 41 local, more responses came in. At 20:10 Station 41 & Engine 21 were due to respond to 2nd & Lemon streets in the Borough for woods on fire. Engine 1/Rescue 1 responded in a minute with 15. Deputy 41 arrived on scene with citizens cooking on the grill. The box was available in 5 minutes. At 22:10, Wrightsville volunteers were alerted to the 500 block of S. Front St. for the vehicle fire. Engine & Rescue 1 went enroute with 13 in one minute. Units arrived on scene finding a vehicle with a blown motor. The box was available in 10 minutes. While on the vehicle fire response, a hit & run occured on the 600 block of S. Front St. Engine 1/Rescue 1 responded and arrived to find one patient. The patient signed off. After debris was cleared, the box was placed available. A couple minutes after returning from Front Street, The Rescue-Engine was alerted to the 100 block of North Front for a debris removal. The vehicle involved in the hit and run lost fuel and oil about a blocks length on N. Front St. Lieutenant 41 utilized the borough's front end loader with a load of sand to spread across the oil. 41 used the oil dry as well to help with the spill. While on Front street York advised of another spill at Locust and 3rd Street. Lancaster Engine 8-1 was dispatched and took care of the spill cleanup at that location. These incidents were cleared around 00:35. Around 02:15, the 41 pagers rang for an audible alarm sounding on the 100 Block of Maple St. Engine / Rescue 1 went enroute with 8. The alarm was coming from an electrical CO detector with a battery backup. After checking the residences with CO detectors, the alarm was determined to be from a low battery. The box was available within 15 minutes. The 11th run, outside of the 24 hour period was a call-in from a resident on the 700 block of Hellam Street around 03:06, he heard an audible alarm sounding from a neighbors residence. Engine 41 took the call and arrived on location to find a smoke detector on the front porch going off. After the battery was pulled, The 41 Engine returned to the station.
