•9-10-06 - 41 Sends 5 Through "Intense" R.I.T. Training•
Five members of the Wrightsville Steam Fire Engine & Hose Company No. 1 along with brothers from Columbia No. 1 (LC-81), East Prospect (YC-42), Maytown (LC-79), and Willow Street (LC-512) had the opportunity to participate in one of the most advanced firefighter rescue trainings in the state. The class was held on Saturday from 08:00hrs. and until 16:00hrs. and Sunday from 08:00hrs until approximately 18:00hrs. State instructors explained and demonstrated how firefighters get trapped and how to properly extricate them. The class was separated and each group was challenged in various scenarios such as: locating, extricating, and the removal of a downed firefighter.  All 5 from the 41 house returned home Sunday tired and exhausted, but without a doubt were honored to be a part of such an important training.  The Wrightsville Fire Department would like to thank Chief Ryno and Deputy Chief Felus from Columbia No. 1 for hosting the informative event and giving us the opportunity to participate in such a training.
