•9-9-06 - Uptown Basement Job in the Borough•
With many members of Station 41 training in Columbia for R.I.T, there was a high risk for lack of manpower for calls, but when the call came it was nothing like we had expected.  A total of 19 WFD personnel were on scene, not including those in the class.

Shortly before 15:00 hours, Station 41 was dispatched to the 400 block of Walnut Street in Wrightsville for reported smoke in a basement.  Rescue 1 went enroute w/ 10, and arrived 5 minutes from dispatch to find a 2-story brick home, with fire in the basement.  41 crew advanced a line to the rear of the structure and forced entry into a garage door in the basement.  Quick nozzle work had the fire in check, and valuables were moved outside to protect them from smoke and water damage.  Crew then proceeded to start a primary & secondary search which proved negative.  Ventilation was started, and the box was available soon after.
