


A BRIEF INTRODUCTION... The Wrightsville Steam Fire Engine & Hose Company #1 in York County, Pennsylvania is an all-volunteer organization of nearly 40 men and women under the direction of Fire Chief Fred Smeltzer. The department utilizes volunteer forces standing ready to serve the community of approximately 8,153 citizens in Wrightsville Borough and Hellam Township. Our services cover 28.5 square miles in the eastern part of York County. Our department responds to approximately 570 runs per year. We also have an average of about 50 responses to Lancaster County per year. We currently maintain 1 fire station, which runs a 2005 Seagrave Engine, a 1996 Seagrave Rescue/Pumper, a 2005 Ford/Semo Rescue/QRS, and a 2001 Dodge Durango Command Vehicle. |
